Improving one’s own skills is a goal that every kitesurfer is aiming for. With increasing skills people automatically take more risks. So here’s an impression of the Surf Games Podersdorf which has been an awesome event for boardsport fanatics! There has been a 4-Mile-Fun-Endurance-Race for kite- and windsurfers, some windsurf competitions and a freestyle/parkstyle contest. If you live in a country in which you don’t have summer the whole year long, kitesurfing might get difficult during wintertime – at least if you want to go on the water. But who cares – as long as there’s snow! Snowkiting is a proper alternative for those who want to pursue their passion in ice and snow too.
It was 2007 when Laila Puehringer got addicted to kitesurfing. The hometown of the half-austrian-half-moroccan Ozone teamrider from Vienna travels a lot and has also been living in the Dominician Republic. Since 2009 she participates in kite contests, also in the worldcup – in former times in freestyle, now strapless in the waves. In the GKA-Wave-Competition which took place in Mauritius this September she missed out on the semi finals by a single point. But she says: „I am hungry for more!“

Aloha, here’s a short photo teaser of the Rider4Rider contest which took place from 5th to 8th of May in Breitenbrunn/Neusiedlersee at the Westcoastkiters. The complete post review including all results will be edited in the next issues of the german Kiteboarding-Magazine and the international Kiteworld Magazine (yes, I am super proud to write for those mags ;)). What I can already tell you about the contest is: amazing riders, cool atmosphere, proper organization!
